| Maybe many bands lay
claim to have invented the GOTHIC genre in music. But the one band
that might have defined it in its purest way is THE SISTERS OF MERCY.
Founded by their visionary frontman Andrew Eldritch
in the early eighties, in the last years we didn't hear so much
of the merciful sisters. An often announced new album was as often
postponed to a later date as well, even though new material was
already played in their few shows.
Echoes of their former innovative works still
inspire lots of bands of the genre today, such as the bands who
joined the "Violent Hour" project, which tries to distil
the old spirit and intensify it in new affectionate cover versions.
The CD is released in a precious digipak with
reptile skin stamping.
